Clover (online gateway) for WooCommerce POS
Clover's online payment gateway inside the Oliver POS browser view.
Powered through the Clover for WooCommerce plugin — install it on WordPress, configure under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, and Oliver picks it up at the till automatically.
How Clover (online gateway) works with Oliver POS for WooCommerce
Clover (a Fiserv product) offers a hosted online checkout used by some WooCommerce merchants who run Clover terminals in their physical stores. Oliver POS uses the Clover WooCommerce plugin to open the Clover-hosted page inside the in-POS browser view.
Clover isn't just a terminal brand
Clover is best known as a physical terminal brand owned by Fiserv (and resold by every US bank). What's less well known is that Clover also has an online payment gateway used by some WooCommerce merchants — particularly those who got pushed into a Clover merchant agreement by their bank and want to use the same processor for their online shop.
Oliver POS + Clover online via the WooCommerce plugin
The Clover WooCommerce plugin exposes Clover's hosted online checkout. From the Oliver register, the cashier picks Clover on the payment screen; Oliver opens the hosted page in the in-POS browser view; the customer enters their card; Clover (Fiserv) processes; the WooCommerce order is written. If your Clover plugin also supports terminal mode, Oliver can ride on top of that flow too.
Why a retailer might want this
If you signed a Clover merchant agreement at your bank, your card-present transactions are already going through Clover. Using the Clover online gateway at the Oliver POS (rather than adding a separate Stripe account) keeps everything on one Clover statement and one Clover settlement schedule.
Best fit for retailers who…
Pick Clover online at the Oliver POS if you already have a Clover merchant account from your bank and want to keep all card processing on one Clover statement. If you don't have a Clover relationship already, Stripe Checkout is usually a simpler starting point.
