Payment Express was founded in New Zealand in 1997 and rebranded to Windcave in 2020. It's the largest NZ-based payment gateway and has significant Australian and UK presence. For NZ retailers, Windcave is the default online card gateway in the same way that Moneris is for Canadian retailers.

The Windcave WooCommerce plugin opens Windcave's hosted PxPay 2 page. From the Oliver register, the cashier selects Windcave; Oliver opens the page in the in-POS browser view; the customer enters card details or taps Apple Pay/Google Pay; Windcave processes through your underlying NZ or AU acquirer; Oliver writes the WooCommerce order.
UnionPay for international tourists
Windcave includes UnionPay acceptance, which is useful for NZ and AU retailers serving Chinese tourists. From the Oliver POS, a Chinese visitor can pay with their UnionPay card directly through the in-POS browser view.

Does Oliver charge extra to use Windcave?
No. You pay Windcave's standard published rates directly to Windcave. Oliver doesn't take a markup, get involved in the money flow, or charge a per-transaction fee on top.
