Enable WooCommerce payment gateways at the register

Offer your online payment methods, like PayPal or Klarna, to your in-store customers directly from your Oliver POS register.

Enable WooCommerce payment gateways at the register

Oliver POS lets you use your existing WooCommerce payment gateways right at the register. If you already accept PayPal, Klarna, Mollie, or Stripe on your website, you can offer those exact same options to your in-store customers.

Why use your online WooCommerce payment gateways at the register?

Bringing your online payment methods into your physical store gives your customers more ways to pay. You don't need to set up separate accounts or hardware for these providers.

These online gateways work right alongside your standard POS payment methods. When your cashiers reach the checkout screen, they will see your WooCommerce gateways sitting next to cash, split tenders, and Oliver Pay.

Step 1: Enable the gateways in your WordPress dashboard

You control exactly which online payment methods appear on your registers directly from WordPress.

  1. Log into your WordPress admin dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Oliver POS > Settings > Payment Methods.

  3. Find the specific WooCommerce payment gateways you want your cashiers to see at the register and toggle them on.

Step 2: Take a payment at the register

Once enabled, using an online gateway in-store is seamless for both your cashiers and your customers.

  1. Ring up a sale on your register as usual and proceed to the payment screen.

  2. Select the newly enabled gateway (for example, PayPal) from the list of tender options.

  3. Oliver POS will open a secure payment window directly on your register, displaying the gateway's standard checkout form.

  4. Have the customer complete their payment using the on-screen prompts.

  5. Once the payment is successful, the secure window automatically closes, and the POS finishes the sale and prints the receipt.

What happens when you change your payment settings?

Store operations move fast, and your POS should keep up. If you add, remove, or update a payment method in WooCommerce, you do not need to manually restart or sync your registers.

Oliver POS constantly checks for updates in the background. When you change your payment settings in WordPress, your registers automatically detect the change and update their checkout screens within seconds. Your cashiers will always have the most up-to-date tender options ready to go.
