First-time setup

  1. Install your WordPress plugin first

The Oliver POS app talks to your WooCommerce store via the Oliver WordPress plugin. If you haven't installed it yet, do that first — it takes about a minute and unlocks the Free plan with no card.

  2. Install the app on your device

On iPhone or iPad, install Oliver POS from the App Store. On Android, open the APK from your Downloads folder, accept the one-time "Allow from this source" prompt, and tap Install.

  3. Sign in and ring a test sale

Open Oliver POS, sign in with the email + password you used during plugin activation, scan or search a product, and tap Pay. That's the full loop — you're now running a WooCommerce POS from your pocket.

Frequently asked

I installed the TestFlight beta — do I need to switch?
Oliver POS is now live on the App Store, so new installs should come from there. If you joined the TestFlight beta, install the App Store version when convenient — it's the same app with the same login and data, and once the beta period lapses TestFlight builds stop launching.
Is the Android APK production-ready?
Yes. The APK is signed with our production release key, runs against phoenix.oliverpos.com just like the Play Store build will, and ships with R8 minification + ProGuard rules applied. The only thing missing is the Play Store listing — that's a launch-week step, not a code change.
Will I have to keep manually installing updates?
Android shows a one-time "Allow from this source" prompt the first time you sideload, then trusts Oliver POS forever. Inside the app there's a built-in update checker that pulls new releases straight from us, so you don't have to repeat the download dance after the first install.
Does Oliver run on phones, tablets, or both?
Both — same binary, same login, same data. The iPad / Android tablet experience adds the multi-pane layout for fulfilment and the customer-facing display; the phone is a hand-held register optimised for line-busting and Tap to Pay.
What hardware does the native app support?
The native app works with the same Stripe Terminal countertops, the BBPOS Chipper / WisePOS readers, Star Bluetooth printers, and Tap to Pay on iPhone / Android we list on the hardware page for the full list and certified bundles.
