How PayU works with Oliver POS for WooCommerce

PayU is a Naspers-owned global payments platform with strong presence in India, Eastern Europe (Poland, Romania, Czech Republic), Latin America, and parts of Africa. Oliver POS opens PayU's hosted checkout inside the in-POS browser view.

PayU and emerging-market payments

PayU is owned by South African media group Naspers and operates across India, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and parts of Africa. In each market, it acts as a local-method aggregator — UPI in India, BLIK in Poland, OXXO in Mexico, Boleto in Brazil — so a single merchant account covers the local payment habit.

PayU in the Oliver POS browser view

PayU offers separate WooCommerce plugins per region (PayU India, PayU LatAm, PayU EU). Oliver POS opens whichever PayU hosted page corresponds to your installed plugin in the in-POS browser view at the register. The customer picks their local method; PayU processes; Oliver writes the WooCommerce order.

Cross-border emerging-market commerce

For specialty retailers selling cross-border into emerging markets, PayU's footprint is one of the broader options — particularly useful if you serve Indian, Polish, or Latin American customers from a European base.

Best fit for retailers who…

Pick PayU at the Oliver POS if you operate in India, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, or selected LATAM/African markets — particularly if you want local-method coverage on one merchant relationship.

Common questions about PayU on Oliver POS

Does Oliver POS have a partnership with PayU?

No. Oliver doesn't partner with PayU or any other payment gateway. We support PayU because it ships a WooCommerce gateway plugin — Oliver opens the hosted checkout inside the in-POS browser view. Your account, your rates, and your support contract stay between you and PayU.

Does Oliver charge extra to use PayU?

No. You pay PayU's standard published rates directly to PayU. Oliver doesn't take a markup, doesn't insert itself into the money flow, and doesn't charge a per-transaction fee on top.
