Braintree for WooCommerce POS
Braintree (a PayPal service) for WooCommerce POS via the Oliver browser checkout.
Powered through the WooCommerce PayPal Payments (Braintree mode) plugin — install it on WordPress, configure under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, and Oliver picks it up at the register automatically.
How Braintree works with Oliver POS for WooCommerce
Braintree is PayPal's full-stack payments platform — cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH on one merchant account. Oliver POS uses the Braintree WooCommerce plugin and opens its checkout inside the in-POS browser view.
Braintree vs PayPal Checkout — what's the difference?
Braintree is the merchant-account product owned by PayPal. PayPal Checkout is the consumer-facing button. They share infrastructure but Braintree gives you direct card acceptance with your own merchant ID, account-managed pricing, and broader settlement options (including ACH). For WooCommerce, the PayPal Payments plugin includes a Braintree mode that lets you process all methods on a single Braintree merchant account.
Using Braintree from the Oliver POS register
The cashier rings the sale and picks Braintree on the payment screen. Oliver opens the Braintree hosted checkout in the in-POS browser view; the customer enters their card or signs into PayPal/Venmo. Braintree settles into your bank account on its own schedule, and Oliver writes the order back to WooCommerce as soon as Braintree confirms.
Why Braintree is good for higher-volume retailers
Braintree publishes interchange-plus pricing for established merchants, which often beats Stripe and PayPal Checkout's flat rates above a certain monthly volume. If you do six-figure-plus monthly card volume, ask Braintree for a custom quote and run the same merchant account through your WooCommerce online store and the Oliver POS at the counter.
Best fit for retailers who…
Pick Braintree if you're already a mid-market WooCommerce merchant looking for interchange-plus pricing, if you need ACH bank-debit acceptance, or if you want a single merchant account covering cards, PayPal, Venmo, and wallets without juggling three plugins.

Common questions about Braintree on Oliver POS
Does Oliver POS have a partnership with Braintree?
