Piggy on Oliver POS

Piggy's European loyalty and gift-card platform runs on the Oliver POS till through the WooCommerce integration — savings cards, gift cards, and digital stamps unified online and in-store.

How Piggy works with Oliver POS for WooCommerce

Piggy is the Dutch loyalty-and-gift-card platform popular with European retailers and hospitality. It bundles loyalty points (digital stamp cards), gift cards, and email marketing in one platform. Oliver POS opens the WooCommerce checkout in its in-POS browser view with the customer attached, so Piggy recognises the shopper and surfaces their savings card and gift-card balances at the till.

What Piggy does for WooCommerce customers

Piggy is the European loyalty platform that started in coffee shops with digital stamp cards and grew into a full loyalty + gift-card + marketing platform for SME retail and hospitality across the Netherlands and the wider EU.

How Oliver POS opens it at the till

Oliver POS opens the WooCommerce checkout in its in-POS browser view with the customer attached. Piggy recognises the customer and displays both the savings-card balance and any gift-card balances on the account.

Issuing and redeeming at the counter

The cashier can redeem a gift card (by code or barcode), apply savings-card stamps, or top up a balance — all via the in-POS browser view. The completed in-store sale credits new stamps / points per Piggy's rules.

Best fit for retailers who…

Piggy on Oliver POS suits European SME retailers and hospitality operators — coffee shops, boutiques, speciality food, small chains — particularly Dutch and Benelux brands where Piggy is the dominant SME loyalty platform.

What you get and how to set it up

Features Oliver surfaces from the Piggy plugin, plus the 4-step install most merchants run through.

Features at the register

  • Cashier sees the customer's Piggy balance and rewards the moment the customer is attached at the register
  • In-store sales earn Piggy points and tier credit on the same rules as online orders
  • Redemptions apply mid-sale through the in-POS browser view with no extra database
  • Online and in-store activity build one unified loyalty profile per shopper
  • Tier upgrades, birthday rewards, and VIP perks fire from the same WooCommerce + plugin events
  • Same Piggy account, same earn / burn rules, same automations as your online store

Setup in 4 steps

  1. Install the Piggy for WooCommerce on your WooCommerce site and connect it to your Piggy account
  2. Configure earn rules, redemption thresholds, and tier definitions in Piggy (or its WooCommerce settings)
  3. Install Oliver POS, sign in to the register, and confirm the customer-capture prompt is enabled at checkout
  4. Run a small live test sale at the counter — attach a known customer, confirm the cashier sees their Piggy balance, apply a redemption, and confirm the closing sale awards new points

Common questions about Piggy on Oliver POS

Will Piggy gift cards sold online be redeemable at the Oliver POS till?

Yes. Piggy gift-card balances are held on the Piggy account and the WooCommerce customer. Redemption at the till deducts from the same balance that would be deducted online.

Does Piggy's email marketing get triggered by Oliver POS sales?

Yes. Piggy's email triggers (e.g. "send win-back after 30 days of no purchases") evaluate against the customer's full purchase history, which includes Oliver POS sales arriving through the WooCommerce connector.

Does Oliver POS have a partnership with Piggy?

No. Oliver doesn't partner with Piggy or any other loyalty platform. We support Piggy because its WooCommerce plugin already handles points, balances, rewards, and redemptions for your online store — and Oliver opens that same plugin in an in-POS browser view at the register, with the WooCommerce customer already attached. Your Piggy account, your members, and your rules stay between you and Piggy.

Does Oliver charge extra to use Piggy?

No. You pay Piggy's standard published pricing directly to Piggy. Oliver doesn't take a markup, doesn't add a per-member or per-redemption fee, and doesn't insert itself between the customer and the loyalty plugin.

How does Oliver POS open Piggy at the register?

The same way it opens a WooCommerce payment gateway. Oliver POS embeds an in-POS browser view that loads the WooCommerce checkout (or the Piggy customer view, where the plugin exposes one) with the shopper's WooCommerce customer ID already attached. Piggy recognises the customer, surfaces their points balance, available rewards, store credit, or wallet, and the cashier can apply redemptions in the same flow as a normal sale.

Will the cashier see the customer's Piggy balance and points at the register?

Yes. Oliver POS attaches the WooCommerce customer to the in-POS browser session (by email lookup, phone, or a fresh customer card), so when Piggy's WooCommerce plugin loads in the browser view it already knows who the shopper is. The same balances, tiers, and rewards the customer sees on the website's account page are visible to the cashier at the till — no parallel POS-only loyalty database, no manual ID lookup.
